Packing

TIP! Since you will likely get a house prior to your HHG arriving, avoid having to buy things that aren't provided by the loaner closet by packing extra totes to bring on the plane. Most airlines allow five checked bags per traveler on official orders- so if you're a family of four that means 20 bags (or boxes)!

What to Pack:

• Bathroom Towels

• Bedding (Pillows, Blankets, Sheets)

• Shower Curtain/Rings

• Extra Cups/Dishes/Silverware 

• Beach Towels, Utility Wagon, Sun Shade

• All your spices that you don't want to throw out!

• Small vaccum cleaner

• Air Fryer, Instant Pot or Crockpot for easy hotel meals

• Clorox Wipes

• IKEA

• Hobby Lobby

• Michael's

• Dollar General/Dollar Tree/Family Dollar

• Trader Joe's

• Kroger/Fred Meyer/Albertsons

• REI

• Dick's Sporting Goods

• Costco (If you don't have a membership already, you'll need one to save money in HI!)

• Sam's Club/Walmart

• Safeway

• Most mall shops (@ Ala Moana)

• Amazon (expect 5 day shipping instead of 2)

People tend to overestimate the seasonal changes in Hawaii- each year is a little different, but in general things stay between 70-80 degrees on most days- summer being a little hotter and sunnier, winter sometimes being a little rainy and overcast. 

DO BRING:

• Light layers

• Bright colors and prints

• Dresses

• Button Down Short Sleeve Shirts

• Linen clothing (pants, shirts, skirts)

• Shorts

• Sandals
