Courses

To give a good spread of course lengths, the following lengths are recommended. As always, you might tend towards the longer end on flat, easy terrain, the shorter end if there is much climb.

•   White 1.0-2.0 km 

•  Yellow 2.0-3.0 km 

•  Orange 2.5-3.5 km 

•  Light Green 3.0-4.5 km 

•  Short Blue 4.5-6.0 km 

How many maps?

The numbers give the minimum map order. It's always worth a conversation with the entries coordinator before you commit on numbers. Up to 50% of entries come in the last week, after you've ordered maps.

Youth League event

•   White (55)

•  Yellow (40)

•  Orange (45)

•  Light Green (35)

•  Short Blue (50)

Non Youth League event

•  White (30)

•  Yellow (40)

•  Orange (30)

•  Light Green (50)

•  Short Blue (60)

All events

• All-controls maps (for SI team, planner, hangers, collectors, and controller) (10)

• Maps without overprint (for last-minute notices in Start box) (5)

Youth League School Years

• White Year 3/4, Year 5

• Yellow Year 6

• Orange Year 7/8, Year 9/10

• Light Green Year 11-13

There are separate boys' and girls' classes in each of those year blocks, but they run the same course.
