We started our school garden in the year 2013. It was first introduced as a learning service project in Isaac Esquivel's 6th advisory class. Our students converted an existing empty brick bed into a vegetable garden in the lunch courtyard. Since then we have made our garden more well rounded. We have added a composting system, pollinating beds, monarch waystation, rain garden, and more raised vegetable beds. Students from all grade levels are involved in learning and maintaining the garden. We also have parent volunteers that work with their children to maintain the garden during holidays and summer vacation. Other teachers from a variety of subjects are also using the garden to improve student learning. If you are interested in becoming involved with our community garden, please contact Isaac.
