MST Sample Class: Principles of Climate Change
23 Apr 2025 (Wed), 7pm - 8:30pm (SGT), In person or online, SMU
How do we know that climate is changing, and that humans have caused recent global warming? Join Prof Chow in this session on how to be a climate “detective” in assessing the evidence of human-caused climate change. He will also elaborate on how the 3 “C’s” of climate change can help us understand the root causes of climate disruption, as well as informing us on what we can act on the challenges of a warming planet.
Speaker: Winston Chow is Professor of Urban Climate at SMU’s College of Integrative Studies and Pillar Lead (Urban Infrastructure) for SMU’s Urban Institute. In SMU, he has extensively researched and taught on how cities affect climate, and how climate change affects cities. In 2023, he was elected as a Co-Chair of the Untied Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), where he will lead the assessment on climate impacts, adaptation and vulnerability in the IPCC’s 7th Assessment Cycle.
Please fill in your details in the FORM to secure your spot in this sample class. Please take note that fields labelled (*) are mandatory.
