Aware and conscious of the effects of globalization, ecological destruction, growing moral decadence in society and the seeming “loss” and the weakening of the Christian faith among the youth and adults alike, and that we are commissioned “to proclaim God’s love to all and bear “witness to Hope in Jesus Christ,” HFA envisions a revitalized school community that “is Christ-centered, develops human wholeness and upholds the common good” (HS Faculty Manual 2008).
The High School Campus Ministry strives to forge a Christ-centered learning community where every member strives to be a true witness of God’s love, has a deep sense of mission and is socially aware and conversant with the socio-economic and political situation of the country and nurtures and cares for Mother Earth: praising, loving, and serving God and people in the spirit of “Ora et Labora.”
This is in line with the school‘s vision.
In pursuit of the vision, the High School Campus Ministry seeks to facilitate faith experiences that allow every member to grow and mature holistically in the Christian faith by living out the Filipino and Gospel-rooted Benedictine values and to deepen a sense of mission among our students, faculty, parents, office staff, maintenance and non-teaching personnel.
The High School Campus Ministry aims to:
Provide activities and opportunities that foster growth and development in self-knowledge and personal relationship with the Triune God: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit as well as deepen a sense of mission.
Foster vibrant and meaningful liturgical celebrations that enable every member to experience God and His love for humankind through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Enable every member to embrace the Christian calling to “proclaim and spread God’s love” and “bear witness to hope in Jesus Christ” the Missionary Benedictine way through the daily Morning Praise, Midday Prayer, Lectio Divina, the Angelus, 3 O’clock prayer and other devotional services.
Promote vocations to the priestly and religious Missionary Benedictine life through vocation promotion and Vocation Search-ins inside and outside the campus.
Coordinate with the Outreach Head and/or SCIP Coordinator the exposure trips of students/ Club and faculty members for processing and deepening in the light of Scriptures and the Rule of St. Benedict (Benedictine values).
Establish linkages / networks with the parish and other schools’ Campus Ministry Office or other offices for advocacy work in ecology, peace, good governance, truth, etc.
