Heterodox Academy at the University of Virginia is an HxA Campus Community. We are the only Heterodox chapter in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and we have one of the largest memberships in the nation. Heterodox Academy is the world's largest nonpartisan, nonprofit member organization of university faculty, staff, and students committed to improving research and education by promoting the ideals of viewpoint diversity, open inquiry, and constructive disagreement. We welcome members and non-members to our events.

We believe that the free exchange of ideas and open discourse is fundamental to the pursuit of truth and the development of new ideas. Without exposure to a variety of perspectives -- especially ones that may challenge their own beliefs -- students risk becoming intellectually isolated and ill-prepared to engage in the complexities of the modern world.
Heterodox Academy at UVA aims to change the culture on Grounds for the better, by activating and empowering faculty and staff to promote HxA values of viewpoint diversity, open inquiry, and constructive disagreement. With the support of HxA, we are building one of the largest communities of academics in American higher education -- to organize events, host monthly gatherings, and collaborate with leaders on Grounds. We are building a community dedicated to open inquiry.

Do you believe in open inquiry? A diverse group of professors and staff have come together on Grounds at UVA because they believe in open inquiry, too. Will you help them? Your donation to the Fund for Free Expression and Viewpoint Diversity at UVA will help Heterodox Academy at the University of Virginia build a community that supports open inquiry and viewpoint diversity. As a supporter, you will receive information about HxA events on Grounds, as well as events sponsored by other organizations with similar goals that the Fund supports.
