To ensure RWJF-supported research is made accessible to a wide and diverse audience, RWJF requires that all grantees who publish findings in peer-reviewed publications do so in open access journals and/or include funds in their budgets to cover the cost of making the resulting publications open access (typically $2,000–$5,000 per manuscript). If the desired journal does not allow for open access, grantees will create supplemental materials (e.g., blog posts, issue briefs, summaries or factsheets) to ensure findings are accessible and actionable. More information about RWJF’s open access policy can be found here.
When your research products are near completion (no later than four weeks before publishing), contact HES4A program leadership so we can review and update your “communications intake form” in collaboration with you and prepare for promotion of your work. At this time, we will also share findings confidentially within the foundation’s internal channels.
Connected with our grant programs, RWJF has the privilege to maintain a Grantee Hub, an extensive database of numerous types of “grantee products” that capture a broad array of program-related analysis, outreach, and impact. We ask you to please submit products funded by RWJF using this link.
