Ahmedabad University (AU), located in one of India’s most vibrant cities, is a private, non-profit University. Established in 2009 by Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), AU has fostered a unique learning environment by providing students with a platform for collaborative research with global partners, project-based learning, and industry linkages. AU’s broad-based contextual and flexible curriculum stands apart from other leading institutes in the country.

AU offers a diversity and depth of courses to enable students to grow into well-rounded leaders. Its programmes include undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies in a wide array of areas including management, life sciences, engineering, and computer studies. AU will offer undergraduate and graduate programmes in the Arts and Sciences starting in 2018.

Centre for Heritage Management

The Centre for Heritage Management (CHM) at Ahmedabad University is one of its kind in India which specializes in heritage management, a niche and relevant area. It is established in year 2012 to promote conservation and management of heritage assets, particularly through its educational programs aiming at capacity building of professionals, entrepreneurs, public institutions, and community groups.

At present, it is mainly working in three fronts:

i. Offers a 2-year Master of Management Studies (Heritage Management) degree programme.

ii. Offering short term ‘management development programs’ to train professionals and representatives of heritage organizations, craftsmen and volunteers to gain hands-on knowledge and skills on managing different aspects of heritage

iii. Providing consulting/advising services to government agencies as well as non-governmental organizations to help them chart heritage management plan as well as to connect them with relevant resources and expertise to carry out the technical works.
