The Herdman Lecture Series refers to the range of guest lectures we hold throughout the academic year. We aim to make the lecture themes as diverse as possible, inviting speakers from academia, industry and beyond.
Everyone is welcome to attend and lectures, unless otherwise stated, are free. Usually there's no need to book a place either.
If you are interested in giving an in-person or online talk for the lecture series, we'd love to have you. Please check available dates on the Google Doc below and send us an email at herdman@society.liverpoolguild.org. We are happy to accomodate in person and online talks.
For 2025-26, lectures will take place from 5:00pm-6:00pm in either the 502 Building or the Herdman Lecture on the University of Liverpool campus, viewable on the campus map here. Lectures take place for ~45 minutes with an opportunity to ask questions at the end. Attendees are normally invited to the Augustus John pub on campus afterwards, however this is by no means obligatory or expected.
