Our Girls Build team at Larchmont Charter in Los Angeles has grown and been dedicated to serving our community and environment for 5 strong years. We currently have 23 determined members and are continuing to expand. Our project is based on a very successful free thrift store event we organized at our school. We will be evolving it into a permanent part of our school where people will be able to constantly donate. Excess clothes will be donated to people in need across the world as we partner with organizations such as Dress for Success. We will also create toolkits for other schools do be able to do the same. Tons and tons of unwanted clothing ends up in landfills when they could be easily donated. Our goal is to promote sustainability as the fashion industry contributes tremendously to the pollution that threatens our environment and future.
