Don't be put off by the roadway to the Preserve as you pass Recreational Vehicle junkyard, bare weed scattered locations because you will get in a large,well-tended location of nine ponds with courses around the perimeter of each.

We started our day here and had a difficult time leaving! We really ate our picnic lunch right at a table in the preserve since we were enjoying it so much. Someone in our group is a serious birder and he loved it.

After checking out a few of the reviews on Yelp, we made a special journey here one morning. It took us some back and forth on Galleria Dr. to discover the side road which leased to this place. An idea: the entryway is on the west side of a animal/pest control business and there are relative small indications published facing both east and west traffic instructions but easy to miss out on. The visitor center, likewise entrance to the preserve is on the both side of this animal control business. Sorry! Type of puzzling! It was enjoyable to find some birds around the ponds. The plants, trees, water and the far-off mountains made beautiful picturesque! The only huge dissatisfaction was the frustrating sound from the numerous overhead jet planes!

This protect is a fantastic place to watch birds. The number of species is big-- even late in the day, lots of birds are still active. The guides who manage it are knowledgeable and friendly. There is a surprising amount of shade from trees. One suggestion for visiting: our iPhone sent us to Moser Rd, which is close but not rather best-- get in by the Henderson Bird Watching Maintain indication to the west of the Animal Control building, which is west of Moser Rd

. A covert oasis in Henderson. I discovered this location in 2015, thanks to a wildlife professional photographer and it's been a favorite spot since. What makes this place stick out is the large variety of birds each pond has a different group. The species vary based upon the time of day & season. I see the most birds early in the early morning, the maintain opens at 6am.

The grounds are well kept and the personnel is very friendly and useful. You sign in at the little workplace and out the door to the ponds. There are bird blinds, a pier type lookout and a 2 story observation deck situated around the 9 ponds. You will likewise see lots of rabbits, lizards and etc. Found off of galleria in Henderson, the bird preserve is a fantastic area to check out.

SUMMERTIME HOURS ARE 6AM-NOON. bring a lot of water, some sun block and an excellent set of binoculars. Most importantly it's FREE!!!
