HelpAouund is a new service, created in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Our mission is to facilitate sustainable, efficient effort in this stressful time. We are delivering a mechanism with two concepts at its core:
A mechanism to allow persons requiring assistance to reach out for help easily, free from most of the barriers of complex technology.
A mechanism for volunteering organisations, the individuals within them and independent volunteers, to quickly and efficiently reach those people in need.
Core system to connect volunteers and persons in need. Both parties validated via email and mobile (launched on 27th March 2020).
Incorporate help group functionality, to accommodate organisation-tied volunteers (due 26th April 2020)
Core SMS text functionality to extend the service to those without internet connection (in progress).
Additional, optional, validation for volunteers using Facebook and/or other mechanism.
Option to add an organisation, incorporating its specific volunteer validation protocol.
Option for volunteers to apply to join organisations, and organisations to accept or decline those applications. Volunteer organisation memberships will be visible to the persons in need, to help select the most appriopriate.
Option for persons in need to include or exclude their task from being displayed to certain volunteers, based on their organisational membership.
