Your personal Watchlist is great for keeping track of everything you want to watch, across all of your streaming services, and is available for use on a wide range of devices.
Like the search, the Chromecast with Google TV can be used across apps – making it an extremely useful tool.
Select a title from anywhere in the Google TV interface, if you want to save for later, you’ll find a Watchlist option underneath the name of the content and a short synopsis. Simply select this to add to your universal Watchlist.
You can view your Watchlist from the Library section of the Google TV interface, and from the platform’s app on mobile.
If you simply type my watchlist into a Google search on your browser then, as long as you’re signed into your account, all of your bookmarked items will be displayed under the results heading Your Google watchlist.
Google allows this Watchlist to follow you across devices.
So when you search for a movie or TV show on the main Google search engine online, you’ll see a Watchlist option in the pane on the right.
Anything you add / remove using the web gets synced back to the Watchlist that is displayed on your Google TV.
When viewing a range of TV shows, movies or videos on your Google TV homepage, you can select any that catch your eye.
You can then view your choices in the From your watchlist section on the home screen.
So whether it’s a new episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 that you’re saving or Netflix’s latest blockbuster, they’ll be waiting for you.
When viewing your Watchlist [under the Library section on the Home screen] you can select any entry and then use the options available to do different things with it. This includes deleting it when you have finished with it, however there seems to be an issue when trying to remove some Netflix entries and they just refuse to go - there is however a solution to remove these awkward titles .....
Click here to go to the web "save" area of your Google Account where all your Watchlist entries are stored. From here you can access individual entries and 'select' them before using the 'Delete' option to permanently remove them. The next time you access the Watchlist on the Chromecast you will se that your actions have synchronised and the awkward entries have gone.
