Read here the latest news, updates, small talk, who wins and more.....
31-7-2022 - In this last weekend there were no more walks done and so we can officially announce team Orange as the winner of the Hello Hilversum Game. Their prize will be a dinner on Sunday August 7th at our sponsor MOUT. Congratulations to Hanna, Natalia, Nataliia, Elena, Svitlana, Sofia and team captain Andrey. Thanks to the other participants especially from team Purple that in the last 2 weeks won 2 more pies. On behalf of the Hilversum Triathlon Club we all wish you the best for the time to come and we hope the HHG gave you a nice time.
Team Orange has generously decided to share their dinner with team Purple. Andrey will inform you via Telegram on the details later this week.
24-7-2022 - Last week, team Orange walked around their 18th neighborhood. That means they have won 18 neighborhoods and since there are 34 neighborhoods their lead can no longer be overtaken by other teams. So, tribute to the Orange team who won the Hello Hilversum Game 2022 with this unique achievement! On Sunday August 7th, 6 PM they can enjoy their well-deserved dinner at our sponsor MOUT. But. Since team Purple was unable to fully compete with team Orange due to a shortage of participants in their team but nevertheless extraordinary commitment, team Orange has decided to share the victor’s dinner with team Purple. Details will be communicated further with the Orange team captain.
Was there nothing happening this weekend? No, the game continues! There are still neighborhoods to be won. Some neighborhoods were not walked by 6 participants before. And since every neighborhood won, still means a free pie as reward, there is still something at stake. Nevertheless, this weekend, it turned out that only Olha from team Purple has put on her walking shoes and kept on walking the remaining neighborhoods. With this she has - very cleverly - won two neighborhoods for her team. See the interim results elsewhere on the webpage. Next week is the last weekend that the remaining neighborhoods can be walked. The organization has decided that all participants may participate. So also, those who have already walked a certain neighborhood before. Happy hiking next week!
17-7-2022 - With the promise of free icecream and an extra special task that was supposed to bring the special tasks to a new level we found more than 10 participants and other interested Ukrainian folks at 11AM at the start right in front of the St. Vitus church. And exactly that church was where the special task took place. The tower was closed for more than 2 years so how lucky we were! We were permitted to climb the tower and see a fantastic view all over Hilversum. All over all these neighborhoods we walked around the past weeks. See the large bells, climbed the scary stairs to the highest level and not to forget, we saw the rare Peregrine Falcons that nest in the tower. After the tower the hardcore HHG participants went for the 3,5 km walk around the city Center. Where we also saw the MOUT restaurant were the winner of the game will get their victory reward in August. Once back we were spoiled with free icecream from another Game sponsor (Kings icebar). it was a pleasant time together. We had a nice chat in the sun and at 2PM everybody left for the remaining routes.
This walk around the city center was the last guided walk with special tasks. The came commences for 2 more weekends. During these weekends ALL the routes are released and all the routes that did not have a winner yet can now be won by the first team that manages to get 6 of their participants around it. Looking at the intermediate results (publices elsewhere on the site) we see that still 17 routes have not been won yet. Some of them need only 1 more participant to get the win.
10-7-2022 - A completely different special task this weekend. Not a typical Dutch childrens game, not a sports clinic but an alternative Geocaching route. The hike around 't Hoogt van 't Kruis (named after the highest hill were an important road crossing was in the past) led along 12 places were 12 questions had to be answered. The answers leads towards a GPS location were the participants had to make a selfie as proof they done it right. That GPS location was in front of the famous town hall made by the architect Dudok. The route itself led us through the outskirts of Hilversum with lush green and very expensive houses. But also a hotel for worms :). It was a pleasure again to hike this route. The number of hikes this weekend was a little less compared to previous weekends. Only 1 nieghborhood was won. Sofia was the 6th participant of team Orange that walked around 't Hoogt van 't Kruis and she earned her team the well deserved pie again. Next week the last guided route. After that week there are 2 more weeks in the game and all routes are set free so the remaining neighborhoods can be won. But not after the most special task next week. >> Be aware: The guided route then will not be 29L (Havenkwartier) but 34L (Centrum). See you next week!
3-7-2022 - It seems that no more teams join us in our Hello Hilversum Game. Team Orange and team Purple hike side-by-side to explore Hilversum. But Orange is just a little more active. This weekend - again - it was team Orange that walked the most routes. From the 40 routes walked 26 of them were from Orange. Together with the neighborhoods won in the previous weekend again an impressive amount of 6 pies were won by team Orange. Wouldn't it be nice to share a few of their pies with team Purple? The rules do not prohibit that. Anyway. The special task on Saturday was on the parking lot of the Bethlehem church in the Staatslieden buurt. (This neighborhood has all of its streets named after famous Dutch politicians in the past.) The game was "knikkeren". Another typical Dutch childrens game played with glass marbles. A kind of Golf for kids (or poor men). Just look at some pics below.
26-6-2022 - Team Orange clearly is in the winning mood. After collecting their multiple cakes they gathered at the guided walk together with team Purple. The neighborhood Anna's Hoeve was the route to walk yesterday and there were 2 special tasks during this short walk. The walk went up the highest point in Hilversum. A man-made mountain, 24m above NAP. We folded our own airplanes there and the aim was to let it fly as far as possible. Albeit a simple childs play it was fun to do and every participant was awarded with a colourfull keycord from the Hilversum Tourist Office. Just below the mountain the 2nd task was there. A very typical Dutch streetplay called "stoepranden". Two players stand opposide a street with high borders. You have to throw the ball to the border on the other side and catch it when bouncing back. Now we know how the Dutch are such good soccer players. During the weekend 34 routes were walked. It will be exiting to see how the last 2 weeks in July will go because of all the routes set free until now allmost half of them need a few more participants to go around these neighborhoods to win these.
24-6-2022 - updated interim results just before the new weekend starts!
19-6-2022 - This weekend no less than 43 routes were walked. And it is team Orange that takes off with the biggest loot. They can pick up no less than 8 cakes from our sponsor Jumbo next weekend. Big question: are they going to eat everything themselves? Are they going to start a trade? Or do they also give Purple team something?
Team purple can also just walk a little more. After all, they have 9 participants in the team. How will it go next week?
18-6-2022 - Today 8 participants from team Orange and Purple showed up. It was warm and there were 2 special tasks along the route. The first was waterfoofball. Purple against Orange. A bottle of water had to be kicked over with a ball. Not easy with this warmth. The 2nd special task was easier. And in the shadow. A small balloon with water had to be thrown into a circle. The further away the circle the more points you get. Another suprise from the game sponsors. A nice black bag from the local tourist office and a bottle of cold drinking water from a company. Great day!
12-6-2022 - Wow! Team Orange walked 30 routes this weekend and won not less than 5 pies. Will they also need a dentist or a diet next month? Team brown walked 7 routes. Not all of their participants seem hungry enough. And team Purple walked 8 routes. Advice from the game-master: Find some more motivated game-hikers. And teams Red and Green still not in the game?
11-6-2022 - Telegram Group added! https://t.me/HHG2022. Go to the Telegram group. We gonna inactivate the facebook group as it turned out that the Ukrainian people do not use Facebook as much as Telegram.
5-6-2022 - The first neighborhood has been won by team Purple. Team Purple congratulation with the pie you won! Look in the intermediate score how your team has done so far. Where are teams Red, Blue, and Brown? Next weekend 5 new routes are released and you get the chance to win 5 new neighborhoods. And another special task during route 7L (Boomberg).
4-6-2022 - First interim results published. --> Clearly not everybody registered today. We sent an email to the team captains with all the results + times and names that were registered today. It is the responsibilty of the teams and their team captains to check this. The new registration form should work for everyone so if something is not right sent us an email and we correct this.)
4-6-2022 - The first guided walk this morning was attended by 12 participants. A lot of questions were asked and answered. The Hilversum Rugby club organised a demo and we were invited to do some exersises with them. Really fun!
4-6-2022 - It appeared that registration of the route with the Windows form on tyhe website was problematic with most smartphones. We quickly changed the windows registry form with a google form and now the registry should go smoothly. (Consequence of this is that the QR code on the printed maps as well as the QR codes on the PDF maps are not correct anymore. These lead to the Windows form which we do not use anymore from now on.)
3-6-2022 - Remember tomorrow 10AM we start with the 1st guided walk starting at Heuvellaan!
3-6-2022 - Team brown added.
2-6-2022 - Also facebook group added were team members can meet and share experiences.
