Find your path. Seek your truth. Stand your ground.
Find your path. Seek your truth. Stand your ground.
Mother Earth, the omnipotent force behind the natural apocalypse, wields nature itself as her watchful eyes and attentive ears.
To evade her ever-watching gaze, one must seek refuge far from the embrace of greenery and fauna, for they serve as channels through which her influence flows, marking and eliminating those who dare to defy her vengeance and her will.
The LIBERATION is an organization founded by elite society who managed to survive the initial apocalypse and emerged as the beacon of hope, earning trust through their steadfast commitment to SALVATION.
As their influence grew, they told people of a future where the ruins would rise anew and those who were beaten will rise up from their mighty fall. It was through these words and actions that they've instilled a flame inside the hearts of the people, a fiery guidance through the treacherous, sinister lands of uncertainty and gore brought upon by the apocalypse.
For many, the LIBERATION is not just their hope for the future, but a savior that dug them out the holes of despair -- the guardian angels bequeathed to the sinners of the land.
However, it must still be noted:
Not everyone could be saved.
Not everyone could be trusted.
For a person to live, another must die.
For a person to be saved,
Another must be a sacrifice.
With every city being rebuilt comes rumors. Rumors that don’t fail to spread and reach the ears and lips of each and every person, weaving themselves to be news of chaos or safety, ensnaring the attention of anyone who inhabited the broken world. From the tight lips of a liberation officer, the sharp ears of a vigilante, or the frantic, worried murmurs of the remnant in the area, tales and stories twist and bend, the reality hidden behind layers and layers of added speculation and embellishment until they become murmurs in the wind, the fine line of truth and fiction becoming indistinguishable to the naked eye.
However, wasn't it known that within the heart of every rumor, lies a fragment of what really is and what was not?
Haven't you heard of the Liberation's alleged favoritism to the affluent; whispers of clandestine deals, hoarded supplies, and the strength of the dozen upon dozen men working beneath them to be transferred to the hands of the organization?
If not, maybe it's the Vigilantes that you've heard about, exploiting the powerlessness of civilians scattered through the green-littered streets, manipulating the populace to believe that no, the Liberation cannot protect you for they're far too big and you're far too small--so come, ask for their services, and they shall be the one to protect you?
Alas, the decision of whom to believe rests upon each individual. Especially with trust being a fragile commodity in a world built on blood and survival, the line between ally and adversary blurs further with each passing new rumor.
It's just as it stands, one truth remains immutable: At the end of the day, they are just rumors, after all.
In the shadow of every ruling authority, there exists those who refuse to go under their rule and would, in fact, sometimes actively go against their hold. In this world, they were called the VIGILANTES. For some, it was just the firm belief they were better off alone or with only the people they trust rather than cling themselves at the pants of another institutional control. Others, however, harbor a deep distrust, viewing the LIBERATION as yet another corrupt regime who sought power over those who were truly powerless in the apocalypse.
Yet, regardless to what the reasons the Vigilante has, it was this exact refusal of the LIBERATION's offers of protection and safer way to fight against the monstrous abominations roaming the lands that marked them as a high-risk danger to anyone who wanted to survive. This is why when an officer of the LIBERATION identifies a Vigilante of notable prowess, they face a critical decision: to persuade them to join their cause, or to eliminate them as a potential obstacle to the survival of civilization in the unforgiving lands of the apocalypse.
