Attendance is mandatory for all 30 hours, 6 hours of driving BTW, and 6 hours of observing BTW. This is a state mandate.
No more than 6 hours of classroom instruction can be missed and made-up. It is suggested that if plans are made to miss more than 6 hours of classroom, then do not sign up for drivers education. If you have questions as to whether your reason would be excused, please email me.
There are no cell phones or electronic devices needed during classroom hours. All electronic devices are to be handed in when entering the room. They can be checked on breaks.
Computers are used throughout the classroom hours for various activities and tests. All policies will be followed by the Hebron Public School District. Only websites deemed necessary by the teacher will be allowed.
It's recommended that students bring light snacks/lunch with them each morning. We are working on computers, so please be considerate of food that is brought in. Try to keep food to items that do not require heating up such as fruit, veggies, granola bar, sandwich, etc.
Taking someone else's learning away due to behaviors will not be tolerated. There are few warnings throughout the classroom. Behaviors can look like the following: falling asleep, talking, goofing around during small group activities, consistently on other websites, etc. If behaviors are an issue, the following will occur:
Teacher will talk to student.
Student will call the parent with the teacher present.
Student will be dismissed from the program at the parent's expense. This means no refund will be issued, and retaking the class next summer is at full price ($250).
