By clicking the link above, you will enter the North Dakota Department of Transportation website. This will allow you to schedule an appointment online for a drivers test.
Hebron is registered with the State of North Dakota as offering the Road Test Waiver. We were one of the first districts in the state with this privilege!
The Road Test Waiver allows the student to skip the driving test. There is no appointment needed. The parent and student go to the DOT office or complete the paperwork online with the proper documentation and receive their license. It's that simple! Please note that the DOT have and will randomly select students to road test even if they have their waiver.
The Road Test Waiver is earned by students who meet and exceed the standards of driving by the end of the drivers education Behind the Wheel experience. Some items that factor into receiving a waiver:
learning the knowledge taught within the classroom setting and applying it to the Behind the Wheel experiences;
willingness to learn and be corrected as an active learner;
safe driving and positive attitude;
practicing the skills learned in Behind the Wheel outside of the classroom;
demonstrating road knowledge during all driving experiences by showing gains throughout the Behind the Wheel experiences.
Serious thought goes into deciding if a student will receive the waiver. Please understand that this is not based on "small town politics". I do not factor anything personal into my decision. Please note that it is my responsibility to make sure that anybody who would receive this waiver could and would pass a driving test by using fluent decision making while driving, along with exceptional car handling skills.
