Prerequisites

1. Quiet Space

Find an undisturbed area without any background noises to connect online.

2. High speed internet

Wired high speed internet is preferred for more stable undisturbed connection.

If using wireless internet, make sure you test your internet connection for the strongest and most stable connection location BEFORE you join the session.

3. Computer Equipment

A desktop computer is recommended for maximum benefits for online studies. A good quality laptop can also be helpful. Using only a mobile device like a phone or tablet will limit your online learning experience. You may also consider a minimum of dual monitor setup for extra real estate.

4. Audio Equipment

A good quality wired headset/earphone with a good microphone is essential. If using wireless/bluetooth headsets/earbuds, please make sure they are of good quality and test the audio BEFORE joining the session.

Integrated microphones in webcams, laptops, tablets are not of acceptable quality for online Tajweed Classes. Some cheaper headsets also have poor microphones.

5. Webcam/Camera

It is essential that both the teacher and students also see each other for Online Tajweed classes, especially for beginner students who are learning the characteristics of letters. Try to light yourself as much as possible if using a camera is required for your lessons. Some integrated webcams in older and cheaper laptops are of poor quality.

6. Smartphones

Smartphone microphones are okay, as long as you bring the microphone as close as possible to your mouth, but do not speak directly into the microphone in front of you otherwise you will have heavy breathing spoiling the audio. Rather move the phone to the side of your mouth.
