We are an interdisciplinary group in Biomedical Engineering at CUHK, and commit to advance diagnostic MRI by accelerating the scan speed and reducing the challenges in routine examinations.

Our research focuses on 1) technical development of fast MRI; 2) Reconstruction and artifact reduction of medical image; 3) MR-compatible motion tracking coil; 4) MR-guided robotic system and treatment; 5) Multi-modality medical imaging; 6) AI in medical imaging. The areas of expertise in our team are Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Fast Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Diffusion-Weighted Imaging.

Our team also has close collaborations with clinicians, researchers and teams from HK, Taiwan, the USA and the mainland, China. Besides, our imaging lab has full accessibility of a 1.5T GE MRI scanner installed in Multi-scale Medical Robotic Center (MRC), Hong Kong Science Park, N.T., Hong Kong for conducting experiments.

Jun 2025 Hailin Xiong, Shihui Chen, Xiaorui Xu, Chenglang Yuan, Yi Li, Qiting Wu and Liyuan Liang presented our work in   ISMRM 2025 in Honolulu, USA. 

Mar 2025 Chenglang was awarded first place in the abstract presentation competition at the inaugural Biomedical Engineering PhD   Research Day.

Feb 2025 Xiaorui Xu, Hailin Xiong and Yi Li attended ISMRM 2025 Diffusion Workshop in Kyoto, Japan.
