You're almost finished with the TOT: Teaching Online Training. In this final module, you will borrow what you've been working on in the previous modules to build your very first online Laulima lesson. This final project asks you to apply what you've learned by creating a lesson in Laulima that integrates instructor presence, interaction for student-to-student, student-to-instructor, and student-to-content, a structure for community building, and multimedia elements.
This cumulative project is all about having fun! Each module has built up to this point, and now, you can begin to put everything you've built together! Have fun experimenting with different lesson templates and ideas. For supplemental support, refer to the different videos below on the various aspects of building a lesson using Laulima. Remember, this module, like all the previous ones, is untimed, so take as long as you need.
Once you're finished with this module, and have completed all previous assignments, you will need to schedule a time, via email, to meet with a member of the ETC team. Why? Because, you and an ETC member will review and discuss your completed Laulima Lesson. After you have completed all the training requirements, you will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to teach for up to 5-years at Honolulu Community College.
After your initial 5-years are over, you will be required to complete a short re-certification training, which will grant you the ability to teach online for another 5-years. For more information on this process, please refer to the Honolulu Community College's Faculty DE Handbook.
