The idea was so straightforward I thought it would not take to much time. I thought of something that is very, very tempting but many times forgotten: The emergency break at the subway. I remember long and veri tedious trips every day looking at that small lever (or button) and thinking about what would happen if I activated it.
#Inktober 2022, Day 24: Tempting in a much more realistic scenario
The challeng was more a technical one: to use the digital tools available at Sketchbook to make the image look somewhat realistic.
First layer was mainly line art, though I could not help start shading a bit.
After that it was all about texture work. I tried different tools to do it.
Then, finally, some of the stronger lines should not be visible, specially in the rounded plastic parts. A additional layer took care of it and finished the drawing.
I posted it October 27. By then I had already sketches for the next three images: #26 Ego, #27 Snack and #28 Camping. It was almost weekend so it seemed I would be able to finish everything in time. But a work overload hit me, and the next time I was able to sit and draw it was already October 28.
