The purpose of this blog post is to discuss and understand the philosophy around International Schools. In this post, I will be touching on the definition of international education, the foundations of international schools, and the growth of international schools. Through exploring these topics, I think a greater understanding of international school philosophies can be achieved.

In it, I review Washington's future education plan along with a review of program that are already in place within the state, including a program focuses on 21st century learning outside of the normal school day.
In this blog post, I will analyze the similarities and differences between different cross cultural terminology: including, international mindedness (IM), intercultural literacy (IL), and global competence (GC). The post will define the terminology and also show how the scope of each term differs.
This post focuses on a plan for developing cultural competency in schools. Development of cultural competence is essential for helping teachers to implement effective strategies within their classrooms which can close achievement gaps experienced by diverse learners. The action plan above is informed by this literature review.

These include positioning, structuring, expectations, expressions, and profiling. I will discuss my feelings toward them and challenges associated with implementing them.
The post assesses the cultural assumptions with the teacher evaluation practices at a specific school. The practices are compared against Erin Meyer's Culture Map which compare cultures across 8 different factors.
