Media has come a long way since printed newspapers and magazines. Society is currently in the age of technology, where information is becoming more accessible everyday; along with this comes the rapid growth of individuals’ self and gender expression. Despite the advancement of ideas and technology, there has still yet to be an advancement in the acceptance and tolerance of those who do not conform to societal norms.
HAYAG aims to uncover the good and bad (and everything in between) aspects about gender expression in media. This advocacy wants everyone to see themselves in the stories depicted in media, and aims to spread awareness of the struggles those with different genders face.
We want to change how people think about gender (male, female, non-binary, etc.) by showcasing how exceptional people can be regardless of their gender. It is not just about representation but it's also about challenging societal norms and creating a more inclusive and accepting community.
Our advocacy is dedicated to transforming the landscape of media and society by addressing the inequalities in gender representation and acceptance. We aim to promote inclusivity and representation, raise awareness and empathy, and challenge societal norms.
A world where media is a powerful tool for social change, where everyone’s unique self and gender expression are celebrated and respected, and where societal norms are challenged and replaced with a more inclusive and accepting community.
