Math Performance Assessments

PADI Math instructional guides are designed to help teachers embed student-centered performance tasks into their core math curriculum as a way to deepen student learning and assess mathematical thinking in authentic real-world contexts. 

Each guide includes two scaffolded practice tasks and an end-of-unit performance task, all connected to a central mathematical big idea and aligned to Hawaii's math content standards and practices. 

Tasks are structured around a Launch, Facilitate, and Close framework, with embedded guidance on access and equity, formative assessment strategies, and instructional supports for diverse learners. 

Teacher materials, student materials, scoring rubrics, and anchor papers are included to support implementation from start to finish.
