2026 - 2027 schedule, upcoming events, and Chess tournaments

Haven Chess Club meets weekly after school during the 2026-2027 school year. Exact dates and times will be confirmed and posted here before the start of the school year. Sign up on our Stay Connected page to make sure you receive updates directly.

ES Chess Tournaments

Haven Chess Club is part of the Evanston Scholastic Chess (ES Chess) program — a network of K–8 chess clubs across Evanston District 65 that runs five Swiss-format tournaments each school year, open to all students regardless of experience. Registration and info at eschess.org.

Regional Tournaments

Throughout the school year there are a variety of  schoolastic aged chess tournaments open to Haven Chess Club members of all skill levels. Participation is entirely optional — these events are simply a great way to put your game to the test and meet other young chess players from across the area. And if multiple Haven students compete in the same tournament, we can qualify for team prizes — another great reason to go together!
