My teaching philosophy statement is that, “Knowledge is limitless, its value is enriching and transformative.”
Pedagogical Goals
This philosophy is anchored on three pedagogical goals:
3. To incorporate a variety of skills and methods when teaching to increasing my students curiosities thereby allowing them discover new knowledge and information.
My main teaching philosophy is to make effort to give all students an equal opportunity to learn by promoting intellectual diversity in the various ways it appears in the academia. It is through my respect for intellectual diversity that I create a positive learning environment where students can develop their critical thinking skills. I encourage interaction with my students allowing them to realize their potential as I sharpen their critical thinking skills while interacting with up to date literature on the subject. My goal, as a religious studies teacher, is to disseminate knowledge rather than to propagate my faith thereby playing the role of a moderator and non-partisan. Consequently, I try as much as possible to create conducive learning environment that respects the diversity of my class. Religion as a discipline is a very volatile subject that requires a lot of openness, acceptance and tolerance of the diverse ideas from the students. To achieve this I allow students to share all their ideas without fear.
