My Profile

I am Associate Professor of Religious Studies, and the current Chair of the Department of Philosophy, Religion and Theology at Moi University, Kenya. I have a PhD in Religious studies (2009) from the University of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, in collaboration with the University of Bayreuth, Germany. In addition to my doctoral degree, I have also held two postdoctoral positions at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (2013-2014) and Northwestern University, USA (2010-2011). I specializes in Islam in Africa particularly in the sub-Saharan region, and teaches both undergraduate and graduate students.
