The first game I ever played was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on my dad’s old Sega Mega Drive. I was instantly drawn to the characters, music, and addictive gameplay, and played it over and over growing up. That early spark lit a lifelong interest in how games are made—from the technical foundations to the creative flourishes—and inspired me to dive into game development myself.
I studied Computer Science, Music Technology, and Game Design at A-Level at Varndean College, and then went on to the UAL Extended Diploma in Games, Animation, and Special Effects at Brighton MET College, where I am currently in my second year. Through these courses (and a lot of personal experimentation), I’ve built up the skills to bring my own ideas to life for you to see on the site.
My games vary in style and genre, but one thing ties them together: a focus on mechanics and fun above all else. That core philosophy is influenced by the games I grew up with, especially those from Nintendo and Sega. I release all my polished work under the name Rook Studios—a one-person outfit for now, but hopefully something that can grow in the future.
My goal is to keep developing solo projects, building toward larger and more ambitious games that I can one day release commercially. In the meantime, I hope this portfolio showcases not just my skills, but also the creativity, dedication, and personality I bring to every project.
