Memoirs

Some time ago I realised that my grandson knew very little about my childhood in a poor part of London just after the war so I decided to write a little book about it for him to read when he was older.

Having got the bug and having had some positive comments by friends who read it I have followed up with a further two books and more in preparation!

174 Westbourne Terrace, Paddington, W2 by Harry Baker (Blurb 2013)

This is a memoir of my early life in Paddington, written for my family. A pdf can be downloaded here.

Climbing Mill Hill by Harry Baker (Blurb, 2014)

An account of my first job at the National Institute for Medical Research at Mill Hill in North London. I worked here between 1962 and 1969 with a two year sabbatical from 1966 to 1968 when I worked in the United States. Sadly this wonderful institute closed in 2015 and the building has been demolished. A pdf can be downloaded here

The Muscle Years by Harry Baker (Blurb, 2016)

An account of my time working at Harvard Medical School from 1966-1968 and in the MRC Muscle Biophysics Unit at King's College, London from 1969-1974. A pdf can be downloaded here
