Study Hall/FLEX Suggestions
Suggestions for study hall time:
Visit the library during your checkout time!
Silent reading
Read aloud a book with your students. If you would like a suggestion for a good read-aloud book, let me know and I can hook you up!
Commonsense Media has great lessons over social media use.
Jarrett Lerner Activities (Thanks Mrs. Ray!) Tons of drawing, creative writing, etc. activities. So much fun!!!
Elimination (Also known as Mafia) Group Role-Playing Game
Break Break Trivia with The Word Nerd. I love this YouTube channel!
Find a podcast or Ted talk to share with your students. My children are loving Tales. "Traditional fairy tales aren’t exactly suitable for kids. Women vomit spiders. Children get eaten. There’s even murder! Every Wednesday, we take you through the twists and turns of the dark origins of your favorite pieces of folklore." I suggest listening to them before you play them in class. They are all 28-38 minutes.
Shout out from the library!
The library received so many goodies over the summer from so many supporters! Bedford County is thankful for the Facebook Adopt a Teacher page and Tina Corley. Because of that page, the library received many items from our Amazon wishlist. Thank you to Joe and Julie Thompson, Megan Straub, Cindy Young, Kim Dolan, Wendy Hall, Mike and Nita Carroll, Jake and Rachel Victory, Dianne Jernigan, Dr. Chantel Stewart, Chavigny Beasley, and Steven and Megan Hartlein.
Teacher, I have requested teacher Trade-in credit from McKay's. When those come in, I will send an e-mail out to let you know. Each teacher will have $25 to spend at McKay's.
WIN A PRIZE!
