The Yang Lab at Stony Brook University investigates how nutrient environments reprogram mRNA translation to shape cellular behavior, metabolic health, and disease. We combine molecular biology, protein–metabolite biochemistry, and in vivo physiology to uncover how dietary and nutritional cues alter the proteome and metabolome. 

Our goal is to define the mechanisms by which nutrient–gene crosstalk drives insulin resistance, cancer progression, and aging,  and to translate these discoveries into new therapeutic strategies.
