"We are dedicated to making a difference for our students, our profession, and our communities."
We are a local, member-driven affiliate of the Tennessee Education Association and National Education Association. We primarily represent the employees of Hamilton County Public Schools, including: teachers, librarians, counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, substitutes, and administrators, as well as central office staff and other groups.
We are united to provide our teachers with what they need, so that they can provide out students with the best quality education.
We are proud to include among our membership all categories of education support professionals: education assistants and paraprofessionals, and school secretaries.
We are the only local organization made up entirely of educators who advocate on behalf of other educators. We are a completely democratic institution. Our officers and board members are elected by our membership and our work is directed by our representative assembly which is made up of our Association Representatives ("Building Reps"), who meet monthly to deliberate actions.

No. Just like you can't buy car insurance after you have an accident, you must be a member for 30 days in order to qualify for legal representation from our attorneys. However, you are still entitled to support and assistance from our UniServ staff, HCEA officers, and Association Representatives once you join. We also provide a discounted attorney referral program that members can use for incidents that happen before joining or during the first 30 days.
While our organizing work involves members and non-members alike, we are only able to provide individual support and advocacy to our members.
