Dr Hamid Abban

Associate Professor in Geometry

University of Nottingham

email: hamid.abban@nottingham.ac.uk

From October 1st 2026 until 30th March 2027 I split my time between Nottingham (20%) and Neuchatel (80%).

My research is in Algebraic Geometry, and I work on Birational Geometry of higher dimensional varieties. I am mostly interested in geometry of Fano varieties and Mori fibre spaces, including classification theory, K-stability, moduli theory and rationality questions.
