My capstone internship is at Cancer Support Community. 

Cancer Support Community’s primary mission is to ensure that no one has to go through cancer alone. They have created a community full of cancer survivors, their loved ones, and anyone who has been impacted by cancer. They provide free psychosocial support to those who have been impacted by cancer diagnosis’.

I am often interacting with members of CSC while assisting with activities such as yoga, crafting, and group lunches. I had the privilege of creating a presentation for a group of CSC participants that highlighted historic women that have made advancements in cancer care. I was accompanied by 2 cancer researchers from Eli Lily who were able to share their knowledge and insight to the group as well.

During my time at this internship, I have learned what it is like to work with a team that is passionate and dedicated to helping improve the quality of life of those who have faced hardships that come with a cancer diagnosis.
