Join me on this journey of continuous discovery and impact, where each step forward is a stride towards reshaping the world through technological excellence.
Academia Experiences
My academic credentials are rooted in a rigorous education, with a PhD in Computer Science from the prestigious Yale University and a BSc from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
This solid academic foundation has fueled my engagement in groundbreaking research across a spectrum of areas, including artificial intelligence and its innovative applications in areas such healthcare and public safety, distributed systems & networks, and network system design.
My academic tenure has been enriched with professorships at USTC and guest professorships at premier universities, including the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Capital Medical University. I was the inaugural dean for the School of Cyberspace Science at USTC, which is recognized as one of the few pioneering schools leading the cyberspace research and higher education in China.
My interdisciplinary pursuit has facilitated collaborations with eminent scholars globally, culminating in over 100 refereed publications. The significance of my scholarly work is underscored by a Google Scholar H-index of 31, an i10-index of 56, and more than 7200 citations.
A hallmark of my professional journey is the development of P4P (provider portal for applications), a concept that has significantly influenced the landscape of content-centric networking. which was published in ACM SIGCOMM 2008. ACM SIGCOMM represents the foremost academic community in the realm of data communication and computer networking. It is renowned for its annual conference that draws highest-caliber research contributions from both the academic and industrial sectors globally. To date, my initiative and research on P4P have garnered international recognition and acclaim, being featured in over 1,700 media outlets worldwide. My publication on P4P remains the most cited paper among those presented at ACM SIGCOMM 2008. In addition to this notable work, I have co-authored numerous highly cited papers presented at ACM SIGCOMM. Additionally, one of my other work on software defined networking was IEEE Digital Library's world-wide top 3 most downloaded in the first quarter, and one of the top 50 most downloaded in the first year, since its publication.
My ability to foster innovation that transcends academic circles to find utility in practical applications is further evidenced by collaborations with leading tier-1 Internet Service Providers and application service providers worldwide.
Industrial Experiences
My industrial experiences have been enriched with various prestigious positions, including serving as the Executive Deputy Director of the National Engineering Laboratories for Big Data Application, the founding and inaugural director of Innovation Center with a world-wide leader Fortune-300 corporation, and the founder and the inaugural director of the National Key Laboratory of Cyberspace Culture supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, among others.
My past work's significant impact led to the establishment of the P4P Working Group (P4PWG) and its subsequent adoption by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as the foundational element for the new Application Layer Traffic Optimization (ALTO) Working Group.
I have substantial industrial R&D experiences with the world's biggest Internet content distribution service provider, the world's biggest telecommunication vendor, the world's biggest electronics technology vendor, and one of the biggest software defined electronic vehicle vendors.
During my tenure with these technology leaders, I had been responsible for building and managing extremely globally distributed, large, talented teams, members of which graduated from top universities such as MIT / Harvard / Yale / CMU, focusing on key technological products' development and delivery. Additionally, I had a substantial intellectual property portfolio of over 100 patents, of which 12 are granted in the US and more than 40 in China.
