Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics at the University of Florida. My research focuses on the development of learner language production, combining tools of corpus linguistics and computational linguistics to explore second language acquisition (SLA) and disciplinary writing development of various linguistic backgrounds. From my research, I look for linguistic insights that can make real-world benefits.
Prior to pursuing a Ph.D. in Linguistics, I majored in applied mathematics and quantitative finance, and worked in the field of Financial Modeling for two years. I have always had a passion for language learning, and I keep wondering about the processes behind acquiring new languages. Corpus linguistics is the perfect field for me to apply my previous data science skills to topics that fascinate me: how the environment and time, combined with one's linguistic background, affect the outcome of language production.
My hobbies are cooking, sampling great food from various countries, playing eSports, and reading Buddhist philosophy.Â
