No, we only work with exotic animals. Our focus is primarily reptiles, though there are some rodents, invertebrates, and freshwater fish that we will take in on a case by case basis. There are many rescues that focus on dogs and cats, our goal is to help some of the species that don't have many places to go.

We have experience keeping many species, in addition to keeping many special needs animals. If the species is specifically listed on our site or in our intake form we either are experienced with the species or have been educated on species care by experienced keepers. Unsure if we're able to care for a certain species? Feel free to ask!
When we have supplies and enclosures available we will offer them with adoptions for an additional fee. There is no guarantee that we will have supplies or enclosures available to offer, the enclosures that we keep our animals in and the supplies for them must all be used for future intakes so we can only offer supplies when we have extras available.
All of our quarantine animals are kept in a separate room from animals that have completed quarantine. All reptiles will go through a standard 3 month quarantine, which may be increased if the animal shows signs of illness. Rodents will go through a 2 week quarantine, with the same policy for signs of illness. Invertebrates and fish will only be taken in as emergency cases, they will remain in quarantine set ups for the full duration of their time with us as they may be transferred to a partner once deemed healthy.
We are located in Murfreesboro, TN.
The general public is not able to visit our facility. All volunteers are able come to the facility to assist in caring for the animals, but to help limit the possibility of introducing illness to the animals we do not accept visitors.
We will meet in Murfreesboro, Nashville, Shelbyville, Tullahoma, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Dickson. Within these cities we will meet at any pet store, Tractor Supply, or public park. If you need us to meet outside of the listed cities please contact us to work out a meeting place, any meeting outside of our listed cities will have a $30 fee for every hour of travel.
We ship reptiles, invertebrates, and fish when conditions are appropriate to do so, including the animal's health. We are not able to offer shipping on rodents as the only way to ship live rodents is to pay for them to be unaccompanied on a plane, which is extremely expensive.
We have an approved list of items that we will accept for donations, as well as monetary donations. Unfortunately we cannot accept any items that aren't on our approved list, if it isn't on the list we likely cannot use it and would either have to sell it or throw it away.
We are not able to offer any animals for free. All of our adoption fees are negotiable, but due to the cost of caring for these animals we cannot adopt them out for free. Adoption fees not only cover the cost of the animal you are getting, but also go towards the cost of caring for the rest of the animals in our care.
The short answer is, sometimes. We do not pay rehoming fees for animals surrendered in emergency situations, all non-emergency surrenders will be assed based on the rescue's budget and how much the rehoming fee is. We also cannot pay rehoming fees to anyone that is paying a travel fee. Travel fees are charged when we have to meet outside of our regular meeting areas.
If shipping an animal to surrender, we will pay shipping fees plus no more than $100, depending on the species. In emergency situations we will still pay shipping fees, but nothing in addition.
Yes! We have foster positions as well as positions working with the animals at our facility, and transport opportunities. All positions are volunteer only and are unpaid. You can apply for a position here, all positions are 21+ except for the teen volunteer position, which is 14+.

No. We are a not for profit rescue and all of our "profit" goes back into the rescue, but we are not a licensed nonprofit. Tennessee does not require animal rescues to be 501c3 nonprofits.

During our closure we decided that we wanted to rebrand ourselves. Reptiles, Rodents, and Rejects is a long name, and it was hard for some people to remember, by simplifying our name we're hoping to make it easier for people to remember who we are. In addition, our ability to take in rodents is now more limited, and we want our breeding projects to be able to live under the same name as well.
