This book is an anthology of English translations from classical Japanese haiku paired with haiku from contemporary authors from around the world; the modern haiku are either written in English or are English translations, accompanied by poem in the original language. The poetry is organized around Buddhist themes with some quotes from Buddhist teachings. 

It's a wonderful book, and the editors, Adjei Agyei-Baah and Gabriel Rosenstock, have given permission for reusing their translations from the Japanese classics; they only ask that you acknowledge the source.
