Hadley Pollinator Garden
The Hadley Pollinator Garden was established by Girl Scout 75284 to help local pollinator populations flourish. The garden is located at the Hadley Elementary School in Swampscott, Massachusetts and was redesigned and planted with native plants supplied by the New England Wildflower Society with support of the Hadley School PTA. Native plants provide the resources needed by native pollinators.
To study how the pollinator community will be impacted by our garden we established a citizen science project on iNaturalist. The iNaturalist project to provides an opportunity for the students of Hadley and members of the local community to learn about, document, and enjoy the diverse members of the pollinator community. You may visit the project here to see what species have been observed to date. If you visit the garden you can help us learn about the pollinators at Hadley by adding your observations today!
If you are interested in learning more about Girl Scouts of Ocean Bay you can find them on facebook and they are a member of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council.
The pollinator garden is located along the side of the Hadley school property, backing up against the ocean side storefronts. We welcome everyone to come explore and watch the garden grow. We hope that it provides refuge for native pollinators that students can enjoy learning about in the future.
