Music Shows of Korea are broadcast weekly, with different artists performing on the show to promote their music. South Korea's largest broadcasting companies each have their own shows, which are broadcast on different channels. SBS has Inkigayo, KBS has Music Bank, MBC has Show! Music Core (also known as Music Core), Mnet has M Countdown, MBC M has Show Champion and SBS MTV has The Show.
Music Shows have a different system for ranking songs. In order to win a music show, they must have the highest overall score. These rankings are based on various categories such as:
Digitals- either the Circle Digital Chart or other tracking methods to assess the performance of songs on Korean music streaming services such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, etc. Digitals also got the highest percentage in all music shows.
Physicals- either the Circle Album Chart or the Hanteo Physical Records Chart to count the number of album sales.
SNS- tracks music video streams on YouTube for each release. Only the official music video on the artist's official channel and 1theK are counted.
Broadcast- varies among different music shows network, but generally calculated based on the TV and/or radio programming of the artist/release for each respected network on which the music show is broadcasted.
Voting- divided into two types: Pre-Voting and Live Voting. Pre-Voting occurs before the live music show airs. Live Voting takes place during the actual airing of the music shows, allowing viewers too vote in real-time while watching the show. Not all music show have live voting. Each music shows have different app to host their voting polls.
