the withering boy. In the mid-1300s, there were two beings of feathers that can heal or harm anything they touch. Vol bared the feathers of wither, anything that would touch the quill of the feather would slowly wither into nothing. Vol’s village shunned him for they didn’t want to get corrupted by the feathers. The first time the feathers caused harm was on a windy day at the age of 5, many withered within weeks. Ever since, they tied the boy up far from the town to keep the feathers away, but a few would fly into town and catch anyone who fall to the touch. Vol stood alone tied up with occasional people throwing food at him, his only time for food. One day at age 10, a doctor came to town to fix the plague it's cursed with, Mason 49. The village and mason came to see Vol, hoping to cure him of the feathers. Mason bared the healing feather. Mason scanned the boy in his frail state and poked him with one of his. Unfortunately Vol’s feathers didn’t disappear, but he regained nutrients and strength from being neglected. The town was shocked at the results, but Mason knew there was nothing wrong with Vol. Mason took a feather from Vol to release him from his ropes and held the boy in a hug. Mason scolded the town for doing this and took Vol with him to get him food until a lifehacker brought them in guardianship. Vol got the love and care he needed and stands by Mason even after being freed.
