Ways to Support our Sailors
As a club team, our funding is largely comprised of fundraising and donations from friends, family and alumni. There are several ways to help us continue to grow and succeed!
Donations: Your generous contributions directly support our team’s travel, equipment, and operational costs. The major areas that we need support in are marina rent, travel costs, and boat repairs
Marina Rent
Marina Rent
The rent at the Washington Sailing Marina to house our boats and power boats is roughly $25,000 a year. For our annual fundrasing goal we are looking to raise $10,000 towards marina rent.
Travel Costs
Travel Costs
Our race team competes in roughly 20 regattas a year. Many of our regattas involve hotel costs, van reservations, and gas that mostly come from your support. Out of the $10,000 we spend on travel costs we are looking to raise $6,000.

We are also responsible for all of our boat repairs and maintence that are required to keep sailing. Our wishlist for specific items is listed in the next section. Whether it is a boat plug or a tiller we appreciate all of your support!
Wish List: Our wishlist includes a variety of essentials to the upkeep and use of our boats. We have many parts that would make more boats usable or are in need of a change through wear and tear from practices. If you'd like to support our wishlist, please navigate to the link below!
Giving Day: Giving Day is a multi-event day that is dedicated to fundraising of student organizations at GW. Last year, with the generous help of our family, friends, and alumni, we were able to raise over 33,000 for the team! This years giving day will be in November and we are looking for your support to help our team succeed and compete at the highest level! Please stay updated through social media for specific dates, times, and the process of donating for Giving Day.
Events: We also announce fundraising and team events through the university’s official channels. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events where you can engage with the team and show your support in person!

Pie a Sailor
Monday, October 26th, G Street Park
Support the team by pieing a sailor! For $5 you can pie any member of the sailing team. Support our efforts to fund marina rent, boat repairs, and travel costs!
