Why Should We Be Concerned?
Guyer Gyre Cleanup is devoted to extracting plastic waste from the ocean in effort to decrease the amount of environmentally detrimental material. We are dedicated to removing harmful pollutants and constructing artificial reefs to increase the ecumene in the marine biosphere.
While plastic is nearly impossible to avoid in today's world, it's influence has caused several intense negative impacts on the environment. Every year, over 1.4 billion pounds of trash are thrown away into our ocean. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch alone contributes a startling 80,000 tons of plastic.
