The earth is a globe - we know this - or do we? A surprising number of people have been arguing that maybe the earth is not round, but actually flat. They argue that, well, it looks flat. And it does. So who should we believe, our own eyes, or a bunch of scientists?
This lesson engages students in an exploration to see if there is evidence one way or another (there is!) and if the shape can be proven. During the process they will discuss what pseudoscience is and why it is so prevalent, and how it differs from science.
