What are Tactical Firearms Officers?

Tactical Firearms Officers otherwise known as TFU is an entity within the Police that was created to combat large situations and banks. Tactical Firearms Officers (TFU) form the ranks of the Department. TFU are the counterbalance to large scale operations orchestrated by rebel groups with large numbers on the island of Altis.

The TFU fulfil the role of a dedicated leadership and operational command unit within the Altis Police Constabulary. Whilst it is integrated directly and still abides by the wider regulations, it does also have its own altered regulations that accommodate for the types of operations that the TFU specialise in.

Duties and Tasks of the TFU

As an integrated unit within the Altis Police Constabulary, TFU officers work in tandem with other non-TFU to police the island of Altis. Alongside the typical duties expected of any officer, TFU also have the following duties:

• Leading and overseeing bank operations

• Large scale operations combatting drug trafficking

• Maintaining a high response rate to situations

• Providing escorts for high-risk legal runs

In addition to the above duties, TFU also provide the capability for higher firepower in situations that call for it. As members of the TFU, TFU are able to utilise more weaponry and equipment not commonly available to the typical police officer. This means that TFU are able to reliably counter the ever increasing number of heavy weapons found in the hands of rebels on Altis.
