Preface: One of the greatest works of poetry in the modern times, Tagore’s Gitanjali was originally published in Bengali on August 14, 1910, as a collection of 157 poems. However, while translating it in English later on, Gurudev, as Tagore was popularly known as, shortened it to a collection of 103 poems which included 53 poems from the original ‘Gitanjali’ and 50 other poems from nine of his other books that included those from his famous drama ‘Achalyatan’, ‘Naibedya’, ‘Kheya’ and ‘Gitimalya’.

সারাংশ- রাষ্ট্রগুরু সুরেন্দ্রনাথ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের বারাকপুরের বাসভবনে মহাত্মা গান্ধী এসেছেন দু'বার। প্রথমবার আসেন ১৯২৫ সালের ৬ মে। ফিরে গিয়ে 'ইয়ং ইণ্ডিয়া' পত্রিকায় তিনি সুরেন্দ্রনাথকে 'বারাকপুরেরঋষি ' আখ্যা দিয়ে এক প্রশস্তি লেখেন। সুরেন্দ্রনাথের রাজনৈতিক জীবনের সাধনা তাঁকে যথার্থই ঋষিতে পরিণত করেছে। ভারতীয় জাতীয়তাবাদের জনক রাষ্ট্রগুরু রাজনীতিতে 'নরমপন্থী' হিসাবে পরিচিত হলেও প্রকৃতপক্ষে তিনি ছিলেন একজন দৃঢ়চেতাসম্পন্ন মানুষ। সেজন্যই সুরেন্দ্রনাথ ব্যানার্জি পরিচিত হয়েছিলেন 'সারেণ্ডার নট ব্যানার্জি' নামে। সাংবাদিক হিসাবে তিনি কখনও সাংবাদিকতাকে কলুষিত হতে দেননি। এই গ্রন্থে অসাম্প্রদায়িক ও নির্ভীক সুরেন্দ্রনাথের জীবনের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিকগুলিকে ক্ষুদ্র পরিসরে তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে ।

সারাংশ- রবীন্দ্রনাথ গান্ধীজিকে বলেছেন 'মহাত্মা' আর গান্ধীজির কাছে রবীন্দ্রনাথ 'গুরুদেব'। মহাত্মা ও গুরুদেব বারাকপুর মহকুমায় কখনও মুখোমুখি হননি। তবে বেলঘরিয়ার গুপ্তনিবাসে অসুস্থ রবীন্দ্রনাথকে দেখতে আসার জন্য রওনা হয়েছিলেন গান্ধীজি। কিন্তু তিনি অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লে কবি নিজেই কলকাতায় গিয়ে গন্ধীজিকে দেখে এসেছিলেন। এই দুই মহামানবের আগমনে বহু ঐত্যিহাসিক ঘটনার সাক্ষী হয়ে আছে বারাকপুর মহকুমা। এই গ্রন্থটিতে ব্যারাকপুর মহকুমায় দুই মহামানব রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর ও মহাত্মা গান্ধীর আগমনের স্মরণীয় দিনগুলি লিপিবদ্ধ  করা হয়েছে।

সারাংশ-  নেতাজির প্রতি ঘটে যাওয়া অন্যায়-অবিচারের বিরুদ্ধে গর্জে ওঠা সুরের অনুরণনে নেতাজি সত্য প্রতিষ্ঠার অভিপ্রায়ে লিখিত হয়েছিল বিভিন্ন প্রবন্ধ। নেতাজির প্রতি অন্যায় , অবিচারের বিরুদ্ধে গর্জে ওঠার সূরের অনুরণনে প্রতিবাদ স্বরূপ গবেষণাধর্মী মৌলিক রচনা সমূহকে গ্রন্থিত করা হয়েছে এই গ্রন্থে। বিচ্ছিন্ন ভাবে থাকা নানা সময়ে রচনাগুলিকে সুসংবদ্ধ করে এই গ্রন্থটিতে প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে।
