Experiential Learning

Activity 1:  Food

First meal in Hanoi!!! We had Vietnam's national dish, phở, with the university HAUST students :D

Banh mi chao is a Vietnamese-styled hot alternative to stuffed baguettes. Had to wait long for this meal but it was super worth it. The sauce is out of this world!

First breakfast in Hanoi: Mi Xao Xi Dau

Had to wake up super early for these noodles, but it was worth it! The group was super tired. The main ingredient of these noodles were soy sauce!

Last meal in Vietnam: Burger King Whopper

We wanted to try the Burger King in Vietnam, and it was DELICIOUS! Way better than Singapore and the burger was huge!

Activity 2: Visiting Hanoi University Science and Technology, HAUST

We visited, ta quang buu, the Library of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, one of the largest libraries in the system of university libraries in Vietnam. There were ten floors!

The students at HUST, told us that they would always pray at the stone for good results. So we all went to pray! 4.0 GPA here we come!! :D

Our first picture with the HUST students, it was a great bonding experience!

The HUST students brought us to buy the university merchandise! We bought so many clothes that day.

The HUST students told us that the guy on the wall had a 3.9 GPA so we had to take a picture with this celebrity :)

Activity 3:  Tour around Hanoi

We saw the Trấn Quốc Pagoda in Hanoi,  the oldest pagoda in the city. It was majestic

We were about to enter the gates of  Trấn Quốc Pagoda but we had to take a picture with the beautifully coloured gates.

We were marveling Ba Dinh Square, the place where President Ho Chi Minh's masoluem was. It was huge!

We visited the One Pillar Pagoda, it was an architectural masterpiece, and listening to the tour guide, Tom, talk about its history was very enriching

We visited Hoàn Kiếm Lake, the largest lake in Vietnam, with my grandmother. We even took the cycle rickshaws and cycled around the whole lake!

We visited the complex of Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and learned all about Vietnam's history. It was amazing to listen to the tour guide talk about Vietnam's long history and all the amazing things President Ho Chi Minh has accomplished.
