Redbot

At around 30 seconds you can see the bumpers in action! 😱👌

Redbot's Performance

Analysis:

We were able to program the Redbot so that it can travel along the white tape on the floor, and turn corners without moving off of the track. The bumpers we installed also were effective in that they were able to move away from any obstacle when the antennae were touched. Occasionally it would turn in the middle of the straight parts of the square, but that could be due to colors in the carpet bleeding through the tape and confusing the robot. If the tape was painted on a surface so that it would be opaque, it would have likely performed better

Analysis

Though this robot was working previously, on the day of testing the motor and gears did not work. It could have been due to wires not being plugged in all the way, or it could have something to do with the code. However, we proved that it worked as the teacher's assistants observed our success. If we had more time, we likely could have been able to figure out what went wrong and hopefully had the robot working again.

Virtual Robot: We did not attempt to program the virtual robot because of complications running the system. We were told not to worry about it and focus on the Redbot and Tamiya Gearbot.
