Introduction:
This website looks into group process, specifically decision-making, Tuckman's model, and task effectiveness. Alexis has been looking at the decision-making process and all of the factors that can influence and impact the end results. Decision-making processes are broken up into the multiple sequence model, embracing the premortem, the cobra effect, and the importance of incentives. These ideas are embraced and expanded on in two Ted talk videos linked on the "decision making" page. Becki has homed in on Task Effectiveness and will be focusing on this topic from Group Sequences. This page will focus on Groupthink and overcoming it, Group Cohesion, and Functional Group Communication Theory. There are also 2 Ted Talks on this page to help you better understand the concepts. Kristin will be focusing on the importance of understanding the different group stages. All of these concepts are linked and can either positively or negatively impact how a team is able to succeed in a project.
This web page has been created to examine group process and all of the ripple effects that can happen during the creation of groups. The authors of these web pages want to help in identifying various methods to encourage others to understand and learn from individuals to form the highest functioning team as possible.
Please read each page carefully so you can take the interactive quiz on the bottom of each webpage. The quiz on each page relates only to the information and video links provided in that specific tab.
