Computer engineering consists of combining of the computer science and electrical engineering disciplines. This type of engineering can encompass certain areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, operating systems, computer networks and more. Since this is a combination of two different fields you would have to have a strong understanding of coding and the skills behind electrical engineering. Computer engineers can be involved also in the creation of micro computers, super computers, personal computers and more. Because they work in various field including healthcare and consumer goods they benefit both the consumer and companies.Â
Robotics is part of computer engineering that involves the construction, design, and operation of robots. Robots can be created and used for many different purposes. Some examples of different uses of robots are robots being used in assembly lines in factories, robots being used as servers in restaurants, and robots being used in STEM classes as tools for students to learn coding and more about engineering. Robots can be operated at many different skill levels and new developments in robotics are currently being worked on. In the future, we may see robots being used more commonly in the public world as companies continue to develop robots for commercial purposes.
